A Skilled Worker visa allows you to come to or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with an approved employer. This visa has replaced the Tier 2 (General) work visa.
In order to apply for your UK work visa, you need a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS). The employer acts as your sponsor and will apply for this on your behalf. There are a number of documents needed when applying to work in the UK, including:
- A valid Passport or driving licence
Proof of knowledge of English
Job title, annual salary and occupation code
2 x Previous job or study references
- COVID vaccination certificate
- Nursing degree certificate

- Proof of address
- If you’re applying from overseas, or if you’re applying in the UK but have been here less than 12 months with permission, you’ll need to show: Evidence that you can support yourself in the UK, for example, bank statements. You must have at least £1,270 in your account. Funds must have been in the bank account for at least 28 days in a row – day 28 must be within 31 days of applying for the visa

International applicants applying for a Senior Carer position are required to do the mandatory Care Certificate training.
