Well Done Team Avanta!
A fantastic achievement for a fantastic cause
On Sunday 5th September, the Avanta Care team ran the Jane Tomlinson Run For All Leeds 10k.
The team were running in support of Learning Partnerships, a Leeds-based charity that does fantastic work supporting children, young people and adults in deprived areas.
The team, who have been training hard for the past three months in preparation for the run arrived bright-eyed, ready and raring to go on what was a bright, sunny Sunday morning.
The run began on Kirkstall Road, just outside Leeds city centre. There was a fantastic atmosphere and cheers, applause and smiles all around as the Mayor of Leeds officially began the run.
The route took the runners away from Leeds centre, past the picturesque Kirkstall Abbey, to Horsforth, where the route then looped back on itself, back through Kirkstall to the finishing line.
Each member of the Avanta team completed the run, collecting a medal and goody bag as they finished. They then went for a well-deserved drink and meal.
So far we have raised over £450 for the charity! We would like to say a huge “Thank you” to everybody who has sponsored us so far.
About the event
The Leeds 10K is the flagship Run For All event and will always be a very special event.
The event has raised a phenomenal sum of money for charity and has become a staple event in the Yorkshire running calendar.
Run For All is part of the lasting legacy of the late amateur athlete and fundraiser Jane Tomlinson CBE.
Every year tens of thousands of people take part in events like the Leeds 10K – running for charity, for a personal challenge or just for fun.
The run has grown year on year since the first event in 2007.
