Healthcare assistants are often a service user’s first point of contact, so a friendly demeanour, a calm persona and good communication skills are essential.
DUTIES GENERALLY INCLUDE:
- Personal Care, such as washing and bathing service users
- Assisting with morning and bedtime routines
- Moving & Handling service users
- Meal Preparation, assisting with eating and drinking
- General housekeeping and laundry
- Toileting assistance
- Providing support and companionship
- Nursing diploma in home country
- Min. 12 months healthcare or nursing experience
- Passed either UKVI IELTS or OET language exam

DUTIES GENERALLY INCLUDE:
- Writing and implementing care plans
- Observing and recording the condition of service users
- Checking and administering medication and injections
- Setting up drips and blood transfusions
- Planing discharges from hospital and liaising with GPs and social workers
- Mentoring students and junior nurses
- Maintaining service user records
FURTHER INFORMATION FOR NURSES
- Nursing diploma in home country
- Min. 24 months senior carer experience
- Passed either UKVI ILETS or OET language exam
- Registered with the NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council)
- Passed the NMC CBT (Computer Based Test)

- Healthcare roles: UKVI IELTS overall score 5 or above / UK NARIC / UKVI PTE score of min. 43 in all sections

What visa will I need?
You will need a visa to move to the UK for work purposes.
The Health and Care Worker visa is required for the following job roles:
